Local Lawmaker Takes State Job

When she leaves office Monday, Bossier City Representative Jane Smith won't be going far from state government.  The three-term Republican, who lost a bid for the State Senate last year, has accepted a job with the Jindal administration.  Smith will become Deputy Secretary of the State Revenue Department, where she'll work closely with Revenue Secretary Cynthia Bridges on legislative and administrative matters.
