Local Flooding Affecting Several Areas in Shreveport
Cross Lake Reservoir has surpassed the flood stage and all public boat launches are closed.
Cross Lake Patrol officers urge the public to avoid the lake until the launches reopen and the lake returns to a safely navigable level. To possibly compound the problem, Shreveport leaders found a problem when they tried to open the gates at the Cross Lake spillway. One of the gates malfunctioned and would not open. The crews did manage to open two of the gates. City officials have called in a repair crew to fix the problem.
