New Orleans Saints Player Launches LGBTQ Football Camp
Two-time Super Bowl Champion, and New Orleans Saints Defensive Lineman, Khalen "Bink" Saunders is teaming up with his brother to create a new kind of football camp this summer. Saunders will be hosting his third annual "Camp Binks" youth football camp, but this time it will have an additional focus. The 2025 camp will be branded as LGBTQ freindly, and will be welcoming to all.
Why Is Khalen Saunders doing this?
Saunders shared the news with the NFL Network's "Good Morning Football", where he explained:
"That's my goal is just to, you know, continue to spread positive energy around that...because football is for everybody. Football is for all. I think we're getting closer to that, in general, as a society. But I'm just trying to do my part to forward that."
Who Is Khalen Saunders Brother?
Khalen's brother, Kameron, is a dancer who has worked in both film and stage productions. He's probably most well-known for being a dancer on the Eras Tour for Taylor Swift. Kameron is a member of the LGBTQ community, and has partnered with his brother Khalen on multiple occasions to spread awareness and advocacy.
Khalen mentioned to Good Morning Football that he took part in the NFL Pride Clinic during Super Bowl weekend, and how much he got from that experience. Khalen told Good Morning Football:
"These are people who feel like they have to be hidden, although they might love the sport, they might love the NFL, they might love football in general as a sport, but they kind of shy away from it just because of orientations, or all these other kind of outside things"
Both Saunders brothers appeared at the 36th annual GLAAD Media Awards, where Kahlen initially announced his new football camp plan.
