Lake Wind Advisory in Effect

It's not a good day to be out on the water. The National Weather Service has issued a lake wind advisory for the whole Ark-La-Tex. It remains in effect until 7 this evening. Strong southerly winds of 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts are expected as a strong cold front approaches the region. Forecasters say the wind could be even stronger over open water. If you have to be on the water, the Weather Service says boaters should prepare for rough chop on area waterways with white caps likely on open waters. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
