[UPDATE] More details have been released about upcoming railroad crossing work in Bossier Parish.

Beginning Tuesday, October 15th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the railroad crossing on LA 154 just east of its intersection with US 71 will be closed for maintanence. Traffic will be diverted to LA 157 and LA 527 near Taylortown.

And starting Wednesday, October 16th, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., the crossing on LA 527 just east of its intersection with US 71 will be closed. Traffic will be diverted to LA 157 and LA 154 near Elm Grove.


[ORIGINAL STORY]  Kansas City Southern Railroad will be working on the following railroad crossings in Bossier Parish:

Poole Road
Atkins Clark Road
Christy Lane
Smith Road
Old Highway 71
Cash Point Road
Ash Point Road

Periodically, there may be delays and possible closures at these railroad crossings.  The Bossier Parish Police Jury will send out specific information, like detours and closures, once it gets more details from KCS.  Director of Public Safety Sammy Halphen urges you to use extra caution at those locations while the work is taking place.  It's anticipated to take 20 to 30 days to complete.
