Arrest in 2024 Jewella Avenue Homicide
Shreveport, LA – Shreveport Police Department Violent Crimes detectives have made a significant arrest in connection with a homicide that occurred in June 2024 at the Wellington Square Apartments, located at 1812 Jewella Avenue.
Details of the Incident
Last year, officers responded to a reported stabbing at the apartment complex, where they discovered a female victim. She was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as Peggy Smith. Investigators have been trying to determine the suspect in the case since then.
Murder Suspect Apprehended
On June 12, 2025, detectives finally caught a break in the case when they received crucial information regarding a suspect's whereabouts and additional details surrounding Ms. Smith's death. This information led them to Carl Graham. Following a thorough interview, Graham was arrested and charged with one count of Second Degree Murder.
