Jefferson Schools Placed Into Lock-down After Shooting Near Campus
Schools in Jefferson, Texas went into lock-down this afternoon after a shooting occurred near US 59 north, only a few blocks from Jefferson High School. One man was killed, and police are searching for a suspect.
Local schools and nursing homes were placed into lock-down as a precaution after the Marion County Sheriff's Department alerted administrators. The lock-down was lifted shortly after 3pm.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the homicide.
