Shreveport’s Operation Santa Claus Gets Epic Donation

When People Hear "Mardi Gras Krewe" Chances are They Think of an Epic Party.

At least that's what I used to think, it's just a bunch of friends who get together and party, right? Well, not really. Now, certain krewes have a reputation for bringing the party wherever they go and there are other krewes that are known for how much they do for the community.

The Krewe of Centaur has always been known for showing up and being active in the community, and they keep showing up, this time it was to make Christmas happen for children in our community.

The Krewe of Centaur has an annual bake sale. This event has become so popular it's the one thing so many members look forward to every single year.

How Does This Epic Bake Sale Go Down?

Every year, each float puts out a call for members to donate baked goods which are then auctioned off at the November membership meeting. It turns into an epic night of delicious items being auctioned off like homemade cakes, cookies, cobblers, candied pecans, and other treats. All these items are sold for record-breaking amounts due to the generosity of the Centaur members.

On top of all of the money raised through the bake sale, members showed up with new unwrapped toys for kids in our community.

Thank You to the Krewe of Centaur for the $10,245 donation and all of the brand-new toys donated for Operation Santa Claus.
