Massive Scary Movie Franchise Celebration Set for Geek’d Con 2026

The most epic weekend on the Ark-La-Tex calendar is just a few months away. Geek'd Con is preparing to unleash three days of pop culture greatness at the Shreveport Convention Center from August 14th through the 16th, 2026.

This massive event is the undisputed heavyweight champion of conventions in North Louisiana, bringing a massive vendor floor, and thousands of fans, to Downtown Shreveport. It also promises an unforgettable celebrity experience, rolling out a massive guest lineup that already features David Arquette, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Summer Glau, and Slipknot's Chris Fehn.

While last year there was a focus on anniversary cast reunions at Geek'd Con, this year one of the big cast reunions is more about a franchise releasing their latest film this summer.

Big Scary Movie Reunion At Geek'd Con

The event will feature plenty of representation from the comedy parody franchise Scary Movie. There are three cast members from the original movie appearing, and three from this summer's release of 'Scary Movie'. There's obvious crossover between those groups, but there are differences as well. All 4 of these 'Scary Movie' guests will be at the convention to take pictures and sign autographs all weekend.

The first person we need to highlight is actor Dave Sheridan...and here comes the spoiler alert for a 26-year-old movie, he plays two characters in the franchise. Sheridan plays Officer Doofy Gilmore, the brother to one of the main stars Buffy Gilmore. But he also plays the Ghostface killer in the movies.

This makes Sheridan part of the Geek'd Con 'Gathering of the Ghostfaces' this year, joining the Ghostfaces from the Scream franchise. The biggest difference between their portrayals of Ghostface, is that Sheridan not only did the physical performance, he's the voice of Ghostface in Scary Movie as well.

Next up, 'Scary Movie' OG Jon Abrahams. In the first film, he played Bobby Prinze, main character Cindy Campbell's former boyfriend. He serves as one of the secondary antagonists of the movie, as a copycat for the Ghostface killings. His role is based off Skeet Ulrich's Billy Loomis in Scream.

The final 'Scary Movie' original is Shannon Elizabeth. In the first film, she portrayed Buffy Gilmore, one of the main characters in the film. Buffy is the brother of Officer Doofy, which makes her the brother of the killer as well...which makes her death scene pretty tragic for a parody movie.

Yes, I said death scene...which means Shannon Elizabeth won't return for this summer's Scary Movie franchise update. But both Dave Sheridan and Jon Abrahams will be returning to the franchise this year. They will be joined by another Geek'd Con 2026 guest in the film.

Earlier this year, Bloody Disgusting revealed that iconic scream queen Felissa Rose was joining the cast for the new 'Scary Movie'. She will be joining Sheridan and Abrahams at Geek'd Con this summer as well. With the movie coming out before the event, everyone will be able to talk to Felissa about her role in the franchise.
