Largest Serving of Gumbo Held by Chef John Folse of Shreveport, LA who cooked up the largest serving of gumbo, which weighed in at a whopping 3,084.42 kg (6,800 lbs.), at the Walk-Ons Independence Bowl tailgate party in Shreveport in 2018.  Even better, it was all in the name of charity as the bowls of gumbo sold went to the Fisher House Foundation. Chef Folse also holds a Guinness World Record title for Largest macaroni and cheese!

Farthest Basketball Shot While Sitting On The Court: Held by Harlem Globetrotter basketball star, Joshua Walker of The farthest basketball shot made while sitting on the court is 19.58 meters (64 ft 3 in), and was achieved by Joshua Walker (USA) in Monroe, Louisiana, USA, on 22 January 2022. He didn't even practice!

4.) Most Consecutive Birdies by an Individual in a Professional Golf Tournament: Set in 1994 by Omar Uresti and 8 other golfers. Uresti set his record in the third round of the Web.com Tour 1994 Shreveport Open in Louisiana.

5.) First Self-Made Millionaires In The United States:  Held by Madame CJ Walker from Delta, LA. who went from a women's haircare sales agent to a beauty entrepreneur. She turned her hair loss into a record-breaking million-dollar business creating hair and beauty products like "Madam C J Walker's Wonderful Hair Grower." in 1905.

6.) Longest Tongue on A Living Dog: Held by Sweet Zoey, a Labrador/German shepherd mix from Metairie, whose tongue measures 5 inches from tip to tip.

7.) Guinness World Record For Most Basketballs Dribbled Simultaneously By One Person: Held by Zaila Avant-Garde, a phenomenal basketball player from Louisiana who also won the 2021 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

8.) Guinness World Record For Biggest Afro: Held by Aevin Dugas from Reserve, LA. This sister has one hell of do! I love it. Aevin's afro measures 9.84 inches tall, 10.4 inches wide, and 5.41 feet in circumference. Congrats Aevin! I love your afro. 

9.) Longest Basketball Shot Ever Thrown From Staggering 113 ft: Held by Louisiana basketball coach, Joshua Walker in 20221. Walker took his shot as the crt McNeese State University's Legacy Center in Lake Charles, LA. Walker is a basketball coach from Louisiana and an overachiever as well.

The couch set another five Guinness World the same day back-to-back! Walker made the shot — along with the Farthest Behind-The-Back Basketball Shot, the Farthest Basketball Hook Shot, the Farthest Basketball Bounce Shot, and the Farthest Basketball Shot Made Backward. Totally insane!

BONUS - Since we're highlighting Louisiana record-setters. Baron Davis, of the New Orleans Hornets made NBA history during a game in 2001. He landed a Hail Mary basket in the 3 quarter to beat the buzzer. Davis didn't set a Guinness World Record, but he got the next best thing. He made NBA history that night with that shot being the Longest Shot Made During A Game, traveling an unbelievable 92-foot across the court.
