If you follow me, you already know I’m a massive fan of Chef Gabriel Balderas and everything he does for our community. From opening El Cabo Verde (voted best Mexican restaurant in Louisiana) and launching Zuzul Coastal Cuisine to supplying Caddo Parish with fresh goods from Nourishing Farms, he is always cooking up something amazing.

Now, he and his incredible team are at it again. You’ve probably seen the viral videos and photos of the historic carousel being restored at the Louisiana Boardwalk, where Chef Balderas and The Brine crew are helping lead the charge. But that’s not the only reason they’re turning heads.

The Brine is officially reintroducing Northwest Louisiana to true riverfront dining!

As Chef Balderas points out, our region has a gorgeous river running right through the middle of our twin cities, but that waterfront space has been vastly underutilized. He loves how stunning it looks at night with the glowing Shreveport skyline and the illuminated bridge lighting up the dark. To capture that magic, The Brine is rolling out incredible riverfront seating with a patio that accommodates 60 to 80 chairs.

Check out the video above to get a sneak peek at what it looks like!

With an estimated opening slated for the end of summer, excitement is through the roof. They are also still actively hiring, so check out their pages if you want to join the team. I can't wait to grab a table and enjoy the view!
