Meet Kimberly Simmons: Latest Winner of Caught in the Act Award
When a co-worker is obviously in awe of a person's kindness, compassion, and commitment to family, friends and all they encounter, that person must really be something special.

And that's exactly how it is in the case of Kimberly Simmons. Her co-worker, Matthew Creamer, has watched her for years and is completely blown away by Kimberly's passion for her job and especially for her dedication to her children.

Kimberly Simmons serves as the Director of Nursing at the Bossier Sheriff’s Office, but her most important role is being a loving single mother to her two children, Olivia, 4, and Briggs, 2. Whether she is on the clock or off, she is always answering calls, replying to emails, and making sure her responsibilities are taken care of. Above all else, she puts her children first and works hard every day to ensure they are happy and supported. This past year has brought many challenges in Kim’s personal life, especially with her mother’s health, yet she has continued to stay strong and remain committed to both her family and her work. She is an incredible friend, and colleague who consistently puts others before herself. As the oldest of five siblings, she has always been someone her brothers and sisters can depend on. Kim has spent the last 12 years serving as a nurse at the jail, where her compassion and dedication shine through in countless selfless acts. She is also the kind of mom who never misses a daycare event, soccer practice, soccer game, tumbling practice, or any moment that matters to her children. She constantly puts herself last while pouring her heart into caring for others, and she brings a special light into every room she enters. Her resilience, compassion, kindness, and self-worth are all one of a kind!
