In an alert from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that beginning Monday, June 8, the LA 529 bridge (Emma Cemetery Road) over Caney Creek in northeast Bossier Parish will be closed.

The alert goes on to say that the bridge will need to be closed from Monday through Wednesday, June 10, to allow crews to complete some much needed piling repairs to this highly traveled bridge.

The bridge, located near Ivan, Louisiana and near the northern end of Ivan Lake, is 2.2 miles north of the intersection of LA 529 at LA 160.

Due to the nature and intensity of this project, DOTD announced this will be a total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route and detour signage will be in place.

As with all projects of this kind, the work will be done "Weather Permitting" so inclement weather could postpone, extend, or alter in other ways, the scheduled work day/hours.
