Why Traffic Near the Shreveport Auto Mall Will Be Slow Next Week
Drivers on LA 526 (Bert Kouns Industrial Drive) in Shreveport should expect some congestion with likely delays a couple of days next week.

We were previously alerted that a project is slated to begin Monday, April 13 on a section of Bert Kouns from 70th street to Kingston Road and now we get word that another area of Bert Kouns will see congestion as well.
In an advisement from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that on Wednesday, April 15th and Thursday, April 16, there will be intermittent lane closures on LA 526 (Bert Kouns Industrial Loop) at the railroad crossing near the Auto Mall in Shreveport.
The lane closures will take place in one direction at a time for the purpose of allowing crews to pave and smooth out the approaches to the Union Pacific railroad crossing.
The lane closures are scheduled to take place from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day for these two days.

This crossing is located approximately 1,200 feet north of the interchange with LA 3132.
As with all projects of this nature, work will be performed "Weather Permitting" so any inclement weather could postpone, extend, or alter in other ways the scheduled work days/hours.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
