Expect Nighttime Delays On Benton Road Starting September 10

Nighttime drivers in Bossier City might want to give a little thought to consider detour possibilities after a recent announcement from the LA DOTD.

In the advisory from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and the City of Bossier City, drivers have been warned of upcoming nighttime lane closures while crews make concrete repairs to a section of LA 3 (Benton Road) in north Bossier City.

In the notice we learn that work on this project will begin next Thursday, September 10, and will include removing and replacing numerous damaged concrete panels on Benton Road from Viking Drive to Hospital Drive.

Benton Road Lane Closures Will Take Place Mostly In Nighttime Hours

The lane closures are scheduled to take place as follows:

• Monday through Thursday from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am each night
• Friday through Sunday from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am (lane closures may take place during the day on the weekends only)

The contractor will begin construction in the northbound outside (right) lane starting at the Viking Drive intersection. Motorists are asked to be aware this work is taking place, be alert and on the lookout for advanced warning signage, and drive with extreme caution through the construction zone.

The Entire Benton Rd Repair Project Is Funded and Managed By City of Bossier City

The entire project, funded and managed by the City of Bossier City, is anticipated to be complete in early 2027, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.

The purpose of this infrastructure investment is to provide a much improved driving surface along this heavily traveled section of Benton Road, and extending the overall service life of the roadway for the thousands of motorists who utilize it on a daily basis.
