New Orleans, LA [KNGT-FM] - A new NFL season is just around the corner, and optimism is building across Who Dat Nation as the New Orleans Saints prepare to take the field for their first preseason game of 2026.

The Saints will officially begin their exhibition schedule on Saturday, August 15, when they welcome the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Caesars Superdome. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m., giving fans their first opportunity to see this year's roster in game action. Viewers in Southwest Louisiana can also catch the game on KPLC-TV Channel 7.

One of the biggest reasons for the renewed excitement is second-year quarterback Tyler Shough. After taking over as the Saints' starter midway through his rookie campaign, Shough quickly showed why the organization believes he could be the franchise's future under center.

In just 11 appearances, the young quarterback completed 68 percent of his passes while throwing for 2,384 yards, 10 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. He also showcased his mobility by adding 186 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground, giving the offense another weapon to build around heading into 2026.
