Is Feds Crime Reduction Program Working In Shreveport? [VIDEO]
United States Attorney David Joseph talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the federally funded Project Safe Neighborhoods program and whether the program is having the desired results.
Joseph, attorney Louisiana's western district, tells KEEL listeners that "we try to fill in where there's a need. we feel across the country that violent crime rates are going up and that the federal government has an important role to play in reducing violent crime.
Joseph then explains that "Project Safe Neighborhoods is a program that was instituted in the early 2000s when crime rates were really high. We've reinvigorated that program, funded it, and we're focusing more of our prosecutorial resources on violent crime."
