Shreveport's five leading mayoral candidates joined 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty Tuesday for the first KEEL Mayoral Forum of the election season. The five, incumbent mayor Ollie Tyler, Caddo Parish Commissioner Steven Jackson, former Shreveport Police Officer Jim Taliaferro, businessman Lee O. Savage and West Point grad and Army veteran Adrian Perkins, are vying for the city's top office which which will be decided on election day, November 6.

After giving a sixty second opening statement, the candidates fielded a number of questions during the sixty minute forum, giving their opinions and plans on the city's violent crime problem, improving Shreveport's flagging economy, funding - or helping to fund - a number of proposed area improvements and the role of the mayor as the city's inspirational leader.
