SHREVEPORT, LA - It's not too often you can get something for free. But this week you can do just that. We have had a couple of devastating storms roar through the community this year tearing up many trees.

Thousands of trees have been damaged or destroyed. But several groups are teaming up to get more trees planted in our community.

It's time for a pretty big event which will give you a chance to get a free tree.

October is called "NeighborWoods Month" by the folks at Shreveport Green. They are teaming up with the Arbor Day Foundation and IP to give away 500 fruit trees and planting 40 shade trees at a local park.
