Hospitalized Children Get Extra Gift from Local Blood Donors

LifeShare Blood Centers are giving donors the chance to give some extra gifts to hospitalized children in our area.

Anyone donating now through December 10 has the opportunity to send a special message that will be attached to a stuffed animal and given to a child in the hospital later in the month.

"Blood donors are already giving the most important gift many will ever receive this Christmas, but they usually don't get to send a personal message with it," said LifeShare spokeswoman Tina Hooper in a news release. "To celebrate the gift of life they give, we are providing stuffed animals for children in the hospital so that blood donors may give in their honor and attach a message."
