Governor Bobby Jindal has signed into law two bills renewing commercial and residential historic rehabilitation tax credits. That's music to the ears of Shreveport Downtown Development Authority Director Liz Swain...who says it will help get more old vacant downtown buildings back into commence. She says, right now, those buildings aren't doing anybody any good and, in some cases, they're costing the City money. Plus, she says they bring down the value of adjoining properties. Swain says, had the historic rehab tax cridits not been renewed, it would have jeapordized several downtown projects that are already in the works -- including the $18-million Ogilvie Hardware project.
