Who Are Shreveport’s Top 20 Highest Paid Police Officers?
Most Shreveport police officers are grossly underpaid. We have seen the exodus of officers leaving our city for other agencies in other communities for higher paid. The department is down at least 125 officers and has been actively trying to recruit new officers.
Starting pay in Shreveport is well below $40,000 which is a major hurdle for recruiters who try to bring in new officers. But if you stay on the force for many years and continue to advance, you do see higher paychecks. 4 Shreveport police officers currently make more money than Mayor Adrian Perkins.
Once pay raises kick in next month, nearly all 20 of these officers will be paid more than the Mayor.
These salary numbers were provided by the City of Shreveport and do not include the 13% pay raise recently approved by the Shreveport City Council.
