Love Horses? See the Olympic Sport of Eventing and Volunteer
Beautiful Holly Hill Equestrian Center in Benton, LA is looking for volunteers for their 2021 Fall Holly Hill Horse Trials!
Every spring and fall, eventers from around the country make the trip to Holly Hill Farm for the Holly Hill Horse Trials where spectators can expect to see nearly 300 horse and rider teams competing in dressage, showjumping, and cross country. This is your opportunity to see an Olympic sport up close and personal. There are only two chances to see this sport in Louisiana first hand and we're lucky to have this available in our community! This event is nationally recognized and serves as the Area V United States Eventing Association year-end championship!
If you've got a horse-crazy person in your house, this is where you need to be Saturday and Sunday, October 23rd and 24th, 2021. The event is free and open to the public with vendors, food trucks, and more.
Even better, you can be a part of the action! It takes a small army of volunteers to make this event a success and it's a huge boon for our community. If you're interested in spending some time in the great outdoors with an amazing group of people enjoying the gorgeous scenery at Holly Hill, contact Volunteer Coordinator Brooke Schafer. You'll get or undying love, free lunch, and a t-shirt!
For an idea of what to expect, check out the video! A few years ago, I had the opportunity to help with the video in conjunction with KMSS Fox 33. We had an absolute blast! And if you do end up planning a visit, come to say hi! I'll be in the announcer's booth all weekend!
