Herby K’s Receives Pandemic Donation From the Barstool Fund

To say that the pandemic has made it tough for locally-owned restaurants is like saying molten lava is a bit on the warm side.  Unfortunately, some of our favorite dining spots aren't going to make it (if they haven't closed already) - and most that are still open are hanging on by a thread.

One of our most beloved lunch havens, Herby-K's on Pierre Ave. in Shreveport, is no exception.  Like all eateries, the home of the Shrimp Buster has been struggling to keep enough business going during the pandemic to pay all of the bills and employees.  Luckily, they just caught a break.

According to a report from KSLA, Herby-K's has just been named as the latest recipient of a $5,000 donation from the Barstool Fund.  The organization is giving out millions of dollars  to small businesses in order to help as many as possible stay afloat.

The donation was awarded after the local favorite was nominated by the Margaritaville Casino.  Margaritaville's parent company, Penn National Gaming, donated $3 million to the fund.

After more than 8 decades of serving up some of the best po-boys and deliciously "Shreveport" dishes, it looks like Herby-K's will be around to make your lunch dreams come true for a while longer.
