It's the story you never want to hear. I'm sure this is a parent's worst nightmare, your kid disappearing from daycare. Just imagine the fear a parent must feel knowing their child was lost and no one realized it. That is exactly what happened to a very upset parent who spoke to KTBS 3 News.

At first, all I saw pertaining to the story was on Facebook by the toddler's aunt and the story had me baffled. How does this even happen? Several of my friends shared the post demanding something be done.

According to KTBS 3 the mother dropped off the 3-year-old toddler at All About Kids Daycare on Highway 80 Tuesday morning. It was just another normal morning or so she thought. What happened next has many of us scratching our heads.

A woman driving down Highway 80 spotted the toddler running down a lane that was closed for construction with no adult in sight. The passerby was identified by KTBS 3 as Patricia St. Andry, she was convinced that the toddler must have come from some of the homes nearby. Luckily for the toddler's safety, he was running down an area that is blocked by cones. We don't even want to think about what could have happened if the road wasn't under construction and blocked off.

Here is where the story got really interesting for me. How did the toddler escape from the daycare? The daycare informed the toddler's mother that a staff member turned around to take care of a runny nose on another child and that's when the toddler broke free.

All About Kids Daycare's lawyer John Hayter contacted KTBS 3 with a different version of what they say happened. The lawyer also said that the child never left the property and was "located within seconds of exiting the building.".

Of course, the concerned mother has pulled her toddler from the daycare claiming that the daycare has not shown any remorse.
