A Haughton man wanted on multiple charges, including attempted murder, has been captured in east Texas.

Bossier City police say 38-year-old Marcus Rashad Thomas was caught in Lufkin by the Texas Department of Public Safety, just hours after detectives with Bossier's Violent Crimes Unit obtained a warrant for his arrest. The warrant charges him with attempted first degree murder, first degree rape and kidnapping.

Thomas is accused of detaining a 31-year-old woman he knew and sexually assaulting her at a home on San Antone Drive before attacking her and a 33-year-old man who's related to her with a sharp-edged object.

Both victims were taken to University Health in Shreveport for treatment. The woman was cut several times and had to undergo surgery, but she is expected to make a full recovery. The man was treated and released.

During their investigation, detectives got information that Thomas was possibly heading to Houstin, Texas, in a 2008 white Cadillac Escalade, and advised Texas authorities to be on the lookout.

At about 7:30 last night, a TDPS trooper was able to locate Thomas in that vehicle and stopped him on Highway 59. Efforts will be made in the coming days to extradite Thomas to Bossier City.
