But in the grand scheme of things, we have things pretty good on the traffic front. You don't have to wake up every morning an know you will be facing stop and go traffic. It happens every now and then, but it's not a regular thing.

What Are the Most Hated Roads in Shreveport-Bossier?

We asked this question on social media recently and two specific roads were the easy winners of this informal survey. Airline Drive in Bossier City was the easy winner, followed by Youree Drive in Shreveport.

The intersection of Youree Drive and East 70th Street is one of the most dangerous intersections in Shreveport, with nearly 160 crashes last year. The high volume of cars in that area make for some heavy congestion, at times.

Of course, Airline Drive backs up at many times during the day. It's the number one headache in the region. But the major reconstruction project on a 3.5-mile stretch of I-20 is also noted as a big problem in our region, but this is a temporary mess.

Another problem mentioned for Bossier is Benton Road and I-220. The turn lanes in that area have been extended to help improve the flow of traffic.

On the Shreveport side, Mansfield Road and Bert Kouns is also a big head ache and also sees a pretty large number of crashes.
