
Two Felons Arrested in Shreveport on Gun Charges
Shreveport police have caught up with two men accused of illegally possessing guns.
Members of the Shreveport PD Street Level Interdiction team pulled over a car on Hearne Avenue at Marion Street Thursday night.
During the traffic stop, officers found 50-year-old Marcellus Gay and 45-year-old Billy Williams in possession of guns and drugs. The officers continued to gather evidence and found that both Gay and Williams were prohibited from owning a firearm due to having previous felony and narcotics convictions.
The guns and the drugs were seized by the officers.
Gay and Williams now face charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a schedule one narcotic with intent to distribute, and Williams was also charged with possession of a schedule two narcotic with intent to distribute.
Shreveport police are in the midst of a major effort to get illegal guns off the streets in light of the wave of violent crime in our community. There have been more than 20 murders in Shreveport since 2023 began.
