The man accused of shooting and killing 29-year-old Shreveport Police Officer Thomas LaValley has been indicted on a first degree murder charge.

A Caddo Parish Grand Jury indicted 27-year-old Grover Cannon this morning. He's set to be arraigned October 20. Before LaValley's death, Cannon was wanted for attempted second degree murder in a July shooting that left another man wounded.

Meanwhile, Officer LaValley's missing service weapon still hasn't been recovered. The reward for anyone who comes forward with information on where it might be could earn a reward of $5,000.
