Government Shut Down Puts Strain on Barksdale Air Force Base
While members of the Senate in Washington are debating a plan to end the Government shutdown, the strain can be felt at Barksdale Air Force Base. According to a Facebook post published by the Base, numerous services will be cut until a new deal is reached.
Paychecks for Airmen and base employees will be held until the government re-opens. Civilian employees will only be used sparingly. After Wednesday, the Base's commissary will be closed until further notice. Numerous other services will also be closed or stripped down until further notice.
