Warning: Five Ways Snakes Slither into Your Louisiana Home
Even though these upper 60's and 70's make it feel like spring already in the Arklatex, it's hard to believe it's still early February. But since it still is a month or so until spring, this is actually a good time to snake-proof your home before the legless reptiles begin moving about and moving in.
And if you're anything like my wife, you hate snakes with a white-hot passion. No amount of persuasive argument will ever convince her that that are beneficial snakes. To her, "the only good snake, is a dead snake."
More Americans Are Afraid of Snakes Than Spiders, Heights, & Public Speaking
And she's not alone. According to a recent poll, one in 10 American adults and 1 in 5 teenagers deal with some type of phobia disorder at some point in their lives. For my wife it's snakes, my daughter has a genuine fear of clowns. It's real. Personally, I'm not wild about bugs crawling on me.
In fact, according to a recent YouGov poll, more people are afraid of snakes than heights, public speaking and spiders. The article says: "The most common fear, one shared by nearly one in three US adults, is of snakes."
And we know that here in Louisiana, snakes are just about as common as crawfish or mosquitoes. So good luck keeping them off your property, and even more so, out of your house. And just because someone says, "They're more afraid of you than you are of them" doesn't seem to help anyone.
So here's a list of Five Potential Ways Snakes Can Enter Your Home.
Hopefully, if you get started early enough, you can keep the most hated creature out of your attic, toilet or closet, as they look for someplace safe to lay their snake eggs inside. You're welcome.
