4th and Final Suspect Arrested in Shreveport’s Latest Homicide

Shreveport Police have arrested the final suspect in the August 18th fatal shooting of Labriesha Patterson. On Thursday, August 21, Semaj Mitchell was taken into custody and charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder for his involvement in Patterson's death.

Details of the MLK Shooting Incident

The homicide occurred in the 1600 block of Martin Luther King Drive. The police department noted that Mitchell's booking photo shows visible injuries, which are believed to have been sustained during the events surrounding the shooting. According to investigators, Mitchell was reportedly hanging from the window of a moving vehicle and firing at Patterson's car. The vehicle later crashed, causing Mitchell to fall and sustain injuries.

All 4 Shreveport Suspects Apprehended

Mitchell is the fourth and final suspect to be arrested in this case. The other three individuals previously taken into custody are Deceldrion Gay, Tywann Gipson, and Rodney Thomas Jr.

"This case is an example of the relentless work of our detectives and specialized units," said Chief Smith. "Through persistence and teamwork, every suspect involved in this senseless act of violence has been identified and taken into custody."
