The grand opening of the new Feist-Weiller Cancer Center's Partners In Wellness clinic is set for this afternoon.

According to a press release from FWCC:

The grand opening of LSU Health Shreveport Feist-Weiller Cancer Center's Partners in Wellness Clinic will take place this afternoon. The clinic, located off-campus on Fairfield, is now booking appointments for mammograms, pap smears, other cancer screenings and wellness checks. The clinic accepts insurance, but will also see free care patients through a grants program for qualifying patients.

Feist-Weiller's Partners in Wellness is a mobile cancer screening unit with the only mobile digital mammography equipment in north Louisiana. They travel to rural communities providing them with adequate access to cancer prevention and early detection initiatives.

Partners in Wellness cancer screening is free to financially qualified uninsured or under-insured individuals. Screening tests for prostate, colorectal, breast and cervical cancer are offered. The goal of the program is to reduce the burden of cancer in Louisiana through early detection and prevention. Partners in Wellness aims to promote good health through routine screening exams and education.
