This Classic Louisiana Food Was Voted a Fall Favorite Dish
SHREVEPORT, LA – This is such a great time of year. We are going out to football games on Friday nights and the temps are dipping a bit. Fall is right around the corner and it’s a gorgeous time of year in this part of the world.
Many folks celebrate fall with those special food items that just shout out “comfort food.”
You will start to see pumpkin pies, apple cider and so many traditional fall specialties. What are the favorites across the country.
That’s a good question. And the folks at Wealth of Geeks put out a poll to find out America's most favorite fall foods, celebrating the flavors that make the season so special.
This group surveyed 3,000 foodies and came up with the favorite food for each state and ranked them by popularity.
Illinois takes the top spot on this survey with the classic pumpkin pie.
Texas chili is ranked #2 on the list.
The survey says:
“Texas chili, often made with beef, chili peppers, and a variety of spices, is a warm, flavorful dish that’s perfect for the cooler fall weather.”
The sweet and tasty pecan pie you will find in Alabama comes in at #3 on the Wealth of Geeks list.
Louisiana lands in the #4 spot for our delicious Gumbo.

What Are Some of Fall Favorites in Other States?
New York residents love apple cider donuts.
Sweet Potato Pie is the favorite in Georgia.
Arkansas residents swear by Chicken and dumplings as a classic fall comfort food.
And here’s one I have never even heard of. Utah residents roll into fall with funeral potatoes. This is a creamy casserole made with shredded potatoes, cheese, and a crunchy topping. I’m gonna have to find that recipe and give this one a try.
