It may cost you a little more to shop at Mall St. Vincent in Shreveport, but that cost is going to help improve the mall.

The Shreveport City Council has approved an additional 1% sales tax to be applied to purchases at the mall's retails stores, except Sears and Dillard's.

The tax will allow real estate investors Rouse Properties to recoup some of its $16.5 million in mall renovations.

The tax would begin on July 1st and stay in place for 20 years.

Will this additional tax affect your shopping habits?
