
Elderly Woman Beaten and Tied-Up in Shreveport Home Invasion
Last week, the Shreveport Police Department showed up to a deeply disturbing scene on Sommersworth Drive.
Police entered the home, and found a 91 year-old woman severely beaten, tied-up, and locked in a closet. The woman was clinging to life after what appeared to be a brutal home-invasion.
SPD started an intense investigation, and after hours of work, they were able to track-down and arrest 24 year-old Kendrell Thomas as the suspect in this horrific crime. SPD, with the help of the Narcotics Unit and the Feds located Thomas at the Stone Vista Apartments. Thomas was taken in to custody without incident.
The woman was hospitalized and remains in critical condition.
SPD has commended the cooperation of the public in helping find Thomas.
Thomas is being charged with:
· Attempted First-Degree Murder
· Aggravated Kidnapping
· Second-Degree Battery
· Home Invasion
