A nice honor for alumni and staff at LSU-Shreveport --eight of them have been selected as recipients of the "40 Under 40" award, given annually by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Initiative. The award regognizes 40 successful young professionals from northwest Louisiana for their outstanding professional achievements, experience, innovation, leadership and community involvement. The seven honorees will receive their awards at the 5th Annual Northwest Louisiana Young Professionals Gala, presented by CityLife, Friday, December 2nd, at the Horseshoe Casino Riverdome.

The LSUS recipients are:

Scott Alexander, a 1994 graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Management and Administration.

Lee Hudson, a two-time graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary & Secondary Health & Physical Education in 1996 and a Master of Education in 2000.

Jaclyn Litton, a two-time graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Management and Administration in 2001 and a Master of Business Administration in 2003.

Chad McDowell, a 1996 graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary & Secondary Health & Physical Education. He is currently the head basketball coach for the men's team at LSUS.

Michael Mosura, a 2008 graduate with a Bachelor of General Studies degree.

Kayne Pierce, a two-time graduate with a Bachelor of Science in General Business Administration in 2008 and a Master of Business Administration in 2011.

Keith Simpson, a two-time graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science in 1996 and a Master of Science in Computer Systems Technology in 2000. He's also an adjunct faculty member at LSUS.

Susannah Stinson, Associate Vice Chancellor for University Development at LSUS since 2006.
