Edwin Edwards Hits The Road

The book tour is on for former Governor Edwin Edwards. He is out promoting his biography and he's talking about a new book he's planning to write.

Edwards says this new book will be “mostly about the trial.”  Edwards was convicted on racketeering charges involving riverboat casino licenses and he spent several years in a federal prison.  He will use the transcript from his trial as the basis of this new book.  He says it should be done in about a year.   At his first stop, people lined up for as long as five hours at a Baton Rouge book store to meet the flamboyant politician.
