A pre-dawn fire has heavily damaged a home in the 2800 block of Randolph Street.  Shreveport firefighters were called out about 4:30 this morning and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the attic of a one-story, wood-frame home.  It took about 30 minutes to bring the blaze fully under control while firefighters worked, at the same time, to protect surrounding houses.  Nobody was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

Ironically, firefighters had responded to the same house about 9 o'clock last night and found some light smoke in the attic.  At the time, they removed the electric meter from the house and emptied the contents from the ceiling and attic.  The cause for that call was determined to be an electric wire running through the attic.  Just as a precaution, fire crews returned to the house about 12:30 this morning and found nothing out of the ordinary.
