Donald Trump today landed in Louisiana Friday to get a first-hand the devastating flooding from torrential rain that hit the area last weekend.

Trump traveled to water ravaged Baton Rouge and the surrounding region with running mate Mike Pence. The two Republican nominees visited homes and churches damaged by the flooding, and at one point helped volunteers unload relief supplies for area residents at a packed shelter.

President Obama, currently vacationing in Hawaii, announced plans to to visit the state early next week. Democrat Party nominee Hillary Clinton expressed concern for the tens of thousands affected via Facebook.
