The US Supreme Court issued a landmark decision Thursday concerning gun rights directly on the heels of Congress issuing new gun control legislation.  The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 striking down New York's legislation that makes is very difficult for individuals to obtain a gun carry permit.  New York's existing law states one has to have a 'proper cause' to obtain a carry permit.

According to USConcealedCarry.com, 25 states are already "Constitutional Carry" states, which means state law does not restrict citizens who can legally possess a firearm from being able to carry a handgun, openly or concealed, thus, no state permit is required.  Louisiana is an open carry state, but requires a permit to be able to carry concealed.

Tom Gresham, host of Gun Talk Radio heard on 710KEEL Sunday afternoons 1-4P,  told KEEL News this decision is "the best ever!"  Tom called this decision "the most important event for the 2nd Amendment in the history of our nation."  He continued, "Yesterday, the Supreme Court turned to the lower courts and said, "Knock it off kids... you guys have been ignoring our decisions in Heller & McDonald, two landmark decisions... and what they said was,  the 2nd Amendment is not a second class right. It is on an equal basis with the 1st Amendment. You can not parse it, you can not slice it, you can not marginalize it..."

If you aren't exactly familiar with the 2nd Amendment, here's exactly what it says.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Conservatives are praising the decision

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said,

"I think it was a great decision by Justice Thomas. Very rarely does he do anything that is not correct. I think he's been a fantastic justice."

The left are losing their minds

New York Governor Kathy Hochul called the decision:

...frightful in it's scope... shocking... the court is turning this nation and our ability to protect our citizens back to our founding fathers

YES!  EXACTLY!  Thank you!! She says this like it's a bad thing!  The only thing 'shocking' and 'frightful in it's scope' is the fact that your state governor, has restriced law abiding citizens the from ability to PROTECT THEMSELVES.  This landmark ruling now gives the people back their constitutional right, provided to them by the Second Amendment.
