Disorderly Person Complaint Leads to Felon Arrest in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport police arrest a convicted felon in possession of firearm
In response to a disorderly person complaint at a local restaurant in the 7500 block of Youree Drive on November 27, officers apprehended 56-year-old Timothy Whitfield. Whitfield was reportedly visibly intoxicated and harassing patrons and employees. Officers took him into custody without incident.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered that Whitfield was in possession of a handgun. Subsequent investigations revealed that he was a convicted felon, thereby prohibited from having a firearm. As a result, Timothy Whitfield faces charges of one count of disturbing the peace and one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
This incident serves as a reminder of the collaborative efforts undertaken by the Shreveport Police Department to address and address potential threats to public safety.
