Shreveport-Bossier foodies can rejoice as an event to celebrate local culinary history will be held soon in Benton. The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau to Host Culinary Event at Sainte Terre on Friday, September 23, 2016.

“Eat Here: A Culinary Celebration of Shreveport-Bossier” will feature four courses of food, two short documentary films exploring local food and drink culture, conversations about local food history, and more.

Tickets are $35 each and are now on sale. More information and a link to purchase tickets may be found at www.shreveport-bossier.org. Sainte Terre is located at 190 Nickel Lane in Benton, LA.

A press release from the Shreveport-Bossier Convention Bureau details what we can expect on the table as well as some of the guests that will attend the event:

Food courses served at the event will include: Shreveport-style stuffed shrimp served by Eddie’s Seafood and Soul Food Restaurant; authentic Hawaiian cuisine served by Ono’s Traditional Hawaiian Cuisine; a special dish prepared by Chef Holly Moore Schreiber of Sainte Terre; and ice box pies by Strawn’s Eat Shop.

In attendance at the event will be a group of visiting food and travel writers representing media outlets including Zagat.com, FoodRepublic.com, AAA Southern Traveler and more. The event is designed to serve as a companion piece to a free brochure called Eat Here: A Food Lover’s Guide to Shreveport-Bossier that is published annually by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau.
