SHREVEPORT, LA - It is time to start enjoying crawfish all around Louisiana. This is expected to be a great year for crawfish supply.

Last year was a really tough year for crawfish lovers as we had a severe drought and excessive heat for a good part of 2023. That decimated the crawfish crop in 2024 and prices started out at record highs and we never really got down to great prices.

Things look much better as we start the crawfish season in 2025. In fact, several spots have been selling crawfish since the beginning of the year.

But they even do specials during the week, selling boiled mudbugs for under $6 a pound. But at this time of year, it's always best to call ahead to make sure your favorite spot has crawfish.

The lowest price we found for live crawfish was at Rubba Boot. They are selling the live bugs for $4.49 a pound. Most other vendors are selling live crawfish for about $5.25 a pound.

What Are the Top Items You Should Boil with the Crawfish?

We did a recent poll and it's no surprise, potatoes are number one. Sausage comes in next and corn is a close 3rd. But people in Louisiana also like artichokes, mushrooms and so much more in that pot.
