Stephen Handwerk, Executive Director of the Louisiana Democratic Party, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the party's Presidential candidates and the problem with selling that liberal list to Louisiana voters.

Handwerk tells KEEL listeners that he considers the Democratic Party to be "a big tent' and that the candidates positions, including single payer healthcare and student loan forgiveness, are, in fact, mass appeal positions.

The Executive Director also addresses the problem that some Dems feel ostracized by the party at a national level =, especially those who might be pro-life or backers of the 2nd Amendment. "Because we're going into out big national convention," Handwerk says, "They get seats at the table to argue their platform...and getting a seat at the table in the delegate selection process gives them the right to weigh in on all this."
