Confederate Monument at Caddo Courthouse Vandalized
For the second time in several weeks, the Confederate monument outside the Caddo Courthouse has been vandalized.
The last time was believed to be accidental. A man who was said to be playing a trumpet outside the courthouse climbed on top of the statue, breaking an arm off of it. He was charged with trespassing.
This time, someone has thrown several Ziplog bags filled with brown paint on it. The paint is splattered all over the base of the monument.
Deputies with the Caddo Sheriff's Office are reviewing surveillance video to see if they can identify the culprit. The monument has been a contentious issue with a lot of people recently, with many calling for its removal.
