The Community Foundation of North Louisiana has launched a new social media campaign to encourage the community to get up and give!

From today, November 25th, through Monday, December 16th, The Foundation encourages you to give back to the community through your time, talent or treasure.

During these three weeks, The Community Foundation will spread the word and inspire citizens to do more good in their neighborhoods by embarking on the #NLAHolidayGive Social Media Campaign to motivate North Louisiana to go out and do good in their communities and share their stories on Facebook or through Twitter.

To share stories of generosity, take a picture of your good deed in action and post it to Facebook or Twitter using hashtag #NLAHolidayGive. The owner of the most creative photo of generosity will receive a $250 grant in his or her honor from The Community Foundation of North Louisiana to be presented to a 501(c)3 organization of his or her choice.

“To make this a celebration of giving back to the region that we all love, we are embracing social media by asking people to volunteer, donate to a charity or simply form a civic group.  We hope our donors and stakeholders will embrace the spirit of giving during year-end and find a way that is available to them to maximize their giving in the community,” said Paula Hickman, executive director of The Foundation. “The Foundation is here to be your partner in philanthropy.”
