SPAR and the City of Shreveport along with the Shreveport Dog Park Alliance will be hosting a community clean up this Saturday at Shreveport's dog park. The event starts at 7 am with the focus on cleaning up and improving the park after flooding from the Red River.

GOOD NEWS, the dog park is ready for its makeover! The dirt is dry enough to get equipment in and the grass mowed and power wash our walkways! Several have volunteered to help clean up the dog park, we need you! We will have a work day with city workers and volunteers on June 9. The dog park will open soon after.

SPAR has already begun working on the park to get it prepared to reopen to the public. Volunteers will plant new flowers, clean, and fix any number of problems. Those that want to help are asked to bring shovels, brooms, gloves, power washers and any other cleaning equipment, if they can.

No dogs will be allowed during the clean up effort.
