Storms Are Headed for Louisiana for Christmas Weekend
SHREVEPORT, LA - Christmas storms are headed for Louisiana. In fact, we could see heavy rains this weekend.
Louisiana is not the only state facing weather troubles over the holiday weekend. The Weather Channel reports travel conditions will be most hampered in the western and central states through the weekend. But there is some good news for the east coast. They will not be seeing the storms until after Christmas.
When Will the Rain Arrive in Louisiana?
It looks like we will stay dry until Christmas Eve (Sunday). That's good news for those last minute shoppers who will be out in all the hustle and bustle of the final Saturday of shopping before Christmas. The National Weather Service in Shreveport says storms will roll in on Sunday and we could see heavy rains across northwest Louisiana for much of the day on Christmas Eve.
But there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Christmas Day looks to be nice with sunshine returning and mild temps.
What's the Forecast for Christmas Weekend?
Saturday will be cloudy with a high of 71. For Christmas Eve on Sunday, the storms start to move into the region and we will see a good chance of rain all day with the high temp climbing to 66. The low will dip into the upper 30's for Christmas morning. But the rain will move out and we should see lots of sunshine on Christmas Day with a high temp of 59.
