Its the week of Christmas in the Shreveport and Bossier City area, and instead of talking about a "white Christmas", we're looking at a wet Christmas. With the possibility of rain in the forecast for both Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

But its not just a drizzle, the National Weather Service in Shreveport is actually predicting the chance for isolated Thunderstorms on Christmas Eve. Then a chance of rain showers early on Christmas Day.

According to historic data, you have to go all the way back to 2016 to find a Christmas Eve that produced any precipitation. That year we saw just 0.04 inches of precipitation. Which seems to be the only year with measurable precipitation on Christmas Eve that Shreveport has seen since at least the year 2000.

There have been some years where "mist" and "sprinkles" have dotted the landscape on Christmas Eve, but no notes of thunderstorms exist in the weather history online.

So Santa better get his rain gear ready for his trip into Shreveport and Bossier, because if this forecast holds, its going to be a wet one.
